The Process at a Glance

1

Nominations

Anyone can nominate a candidate, but many nominees are put forward by our jury, a panel of 20 experts from diverse fields. Each nominee must demonstrate proven or imminent impact in the Czech Republic.
The nominations close on February 28th, 2026.

2

Jury Review & Selection

The jury reviews all nominations and assigns them to one of five impact levels. After careful evaluation, the jury selects three finalists per category.

3

Finalists announced

Three finalists per category are revealed and invited to present their projects at the award show.

4

The Creative Heroes Award Show

On 4 June 2026, the fourth edition of the award show will take place in Prague. During the event, finalists present their projects in a dynamic conference-style format. Winners in each category are announced, followed by the audience vote for the ultimate title: Creative Superhero.

5

Beyond the Award

Recognition doesn’t end with the ceremony. Nominees gain visibility through our network and media channels, often leading to sponsorships, partnerships, and collaborations with companies committed to ESG values. We also organise Pitch Nights and InterVision meetings, creating ongoing opportunities for growth and impact.

Who is a creative hero?

A creative hero is someone who doesn’t wait for permission to change the world. They see what others overlook, act where others hesitate, and create impact that reaches far beyond themselves. Creative heroes are inventors, educators, designers, scientists, entrepreneurs, and everyday changemakers who use their ideas to build a better future. They are proof that real transformation starts with one person — and one courageous idea.

Who can be nominated?

To be eligible for a Creative Heroes Award, you must either have the Czech or Slovak nationality, or your project must have an impact on the territory of the Czech Republic. This impact must be proven and tangible, or it must be beyond doubt that the project will have such impact soon. A professional jury will be the judge of the impact. History of the Creative Heroes Award

The Creative Heroes Award was born from a shared belief: creativity has the power to transform businesses, communities, and society. This section brings you the voices behind the initiative—why it started, what it stands for, and how it continues to inspire change across borders.

2018: Proof of Concept in the Netherlands

The first Creative Heroes Award event was held in 2018 in The Netherlands, initially focusing on the Dutch Creative Industry. After two successful editions, the third event—planned for 2020—was postponed and later cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

2021: Czech Republic Launch – 5 Founding Heroes

In 2021, the Creative Heroes Award was introduced to the Czech Republic, organised by the Netherlands-Czech Chamber of Commerce. The Czech edition celebrates individuals who create sustainable, positive impact on people, society, and the environment.

2023+2024: Community Expansion – Sector Diversification

The second edition followed in 2023, and the third in 2024, all hosted at the Škoda Museum in Mladá Boleslav.

The Future: Moving and growing

After these three editions, the award show is moving to Prague for the first time. The next event will take place on 4 June 2026, marking the start of a new chapter: shifting from an 18-month cycle to an annual celebration of creativity and impact.

"It is our mission to connect people to create a sustainable positive impact on people, society and the environment.

The Creative Heroes Award programme is a perfect vehicle to make this happen across sectors in the Czech Republic."

"We need more creatives in the Boardrooms of companies. Focusing on the much-needed power of creativity in society, we founded the Creative Heroes Award with this message in mind. Being an independent platform that focuses on the people behind sustainable positive impact, we set out to place creativity on a pedestal and create a relevant platform for creative professionals.
We are very pleased this thinking has resonated in the Czech Republic, which, after The Netherlands, will be the second country in which the Creative Heroes Award event will take place."

Guus van Maarschalkerweerd, co-founder Creative Heroes Award.
